It’s a doubly Royal year ahead for material scientist Professor Mark Miodownik. Named in the Queen’s New Year Honour’s list as a new MBE (Member of the British Empire) for services to science, engineering and broadcasting, Miodownik is also set to give the Royal Society’s prestigious Michael Faraday Lecture in February.
Mr Santiago Suárez De La Fuente wins IMarEST Stanley Gray Fellowship
The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) awards a Stanley Gray Fellowship every year to a selected candidate judged to be of outstanding potential to enable a significant piece of work to be undertaken in an approved maritime engineering/science/technology subject to Doctorate (PhD) or post-Doctorate level. Mr Suárez De La Fuente is supervised by Dr Alistair Greig and he is investigating the opportunities for waste heat recovery on board ships.
