The Department is delighted to announce 2 Senior promotions for 2013.
Dr Ben Hanson promotion to Senior Lecturer
Dr. Hanson’s research involves biomedical applications of engineering, system-modelling and analysis. Dr Hanson is particularly interested in the flow properties of foods and drinks, and how they can be modified to manage disordered swallowing (“dysphagia”) which can seriously impact on health and quality of life.
Dr Gaetano Burriesci was promoted to Reader in Biomedical Engineering
Dr Burriesci’s research activity covers many disciplines which include experimental and numerical stress analysis, non conventional materials and bioengineering. Often in collaboration with major biomedical industries, he has led the development of novel therapeutic technologies that are now widely adopted.
Many congratulations on this well-deserved acknowledgement of their research achievements and contributions to teaching.
Promotions will become effective from 1st October 2013.
