Biography
Dr. Yuriy Semenov joined University College London in 2012 as a Senior Research Associate. He received his Ph.D degree (1987) and D.Sc. degree (2011) from National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU). From 1984-2006 he was with the Institute of Technical Mechanics of the National Space Agency of Ukraine.
In 2000-02, he took leave to work at Osaka University on the development of a mathematical model describing the ‘rotating choke’: a cavitation instability first observed in the cavitating turbopump. In 2006-08. he was a Visiting Researcher at the Norwegian Centre of Excellence for Ship and Ocean Structures. In 2009-11, he was a Research Professor at the School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, University of Ulsan in South Korea.
