Investigation of the haemodynamics of dissected aortas: an in vitro, in-vivo and in-silico study.
Gaia obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Biomedical Engineering, specialising in Biomechanics and Biomaterials from Politecnico di Milano, Italy (2013 and 2015 respectively). She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at University College London.
Her research aims to combine vivo measurements, vitro experiments and silico studies in order to understand the haemodynamics of aortic dissections and support the clinical decision-making process. Her research interests include tissue modelling and computational and experimental fluid dynamics of the cardiovascular system.
