Paolo obtained his PhD in Civil and Environmental Science in 2012. In 2013 he started his collaboration with the UCL Cardiovascular Engineering Laboratory, thanks to a joint translational research project with the Department of Cardiology, Thoracic & Vascular Sciences at the University of Padua, Italy, aimed at the development of an innovative endovascular occluding device for paravalvular leakage prevention.

Currently Paolo works in the Cardiovascular Fluid Dynamics Laboratory, HER Lab, of the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering of the University of Padua, and he collaborates with the UCL Cardiovascular Engineering Laboratory on Patient-specific 3D numerical simulation of the Transapical Neochord Procedure for mitral valve repair.
